Holy Communion

16th May 2019

The entire school community were out in force to support our Primary Four pupils who have just made their First Holy Communion.

Fr Kearns led our beautiful mass and each child contributed to the service in a reverent and thoughtful way, making it very special indeed.

Our talented choir was led by Mrs Evans and their voices carried beautifully, adding so much to the sacrament.

The Parents' Support Group prepared and hosted our school family afterwards with baked treats and a bottomless teapot! The hall was - and remains - beautifully decorated with the children's creative work which was lovingly prepared in advance of their sacrament and carefully mounted displayed by some of our incredibly kind parents.

All in all, the day really added a new dimension to the idea that 'it takes a village to raise a child; in this case, our 'village' is as involved in the spiritual formation of the child as much as the 'raising' of them.

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the day one which will be cherished in our pupils' memories for years to come.
