During Black History Month, Primary 3 and 4 learnt about the African American Mathematican, Katherine Johnson. The children explored how this brilliant woman worked for NASA and played a crucial role in the success of early U.S. space missions in particular the Apollo Space Mission. Katherine broke both racial and gender barriers. Her story is inspiring to show how determination and intelligence can be a powerful force in overcoming discrimination.
