The children in P.4/5 were learning all about shape poetry last month with our student teacher Miss Martin. We first explored single words in the form of calligrams. As a class we decided to link our topic of chocolate in making our own Chocolate Calligram or Chocolate Shape Poem. We explored all the different words of describing the chocolate through our five senses. We then used our thesaurus to look up synonyms for those words to expand our vocabulary further. To finish off we placed those words into the form of a shape poem and recited them to our friends in class! Take a sneak peak of some of our work!
