P6 and P7 had fun creating these Advent Wreaths and learning all about the meaning of Advent, a time of waiting and preparing for celebrating the birth of Jesus at Christmas. They learnt that the circle shape reminds us of God's love for us that never ends; the evergreen leaves, of the life that he gives us; the prickly holly of the thorns he wears on the cross, and the candles of the light he brought into the world and brings into our lives.
Each week in class they talk about each of the candles, reminding us of the hope, peace, joy and love that Jesus offers us and helps us bring to the people in our lives.
