Exploring Castles in P3/4
24th Sep 2025
Our P3/4 class have been busy learning all about Castles as part of their World Around Us topic work. The children discovered why the Normans built castles, what life was like inside them and the different features such as drawbridges, towers and battlements.
To bring their learning to life, the pupils worked together to design and build their very own castles, showing fantastic teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. They were especially interested to find out more about their nearest local castle in Greencastle and enjoyed linking their research to a real place close to home on the shores of Carlingford Lough.
