In Reception and Primary One our topic is Minibeasts and we have been exploring and learning lots of things about these little insects. We have been following the life cycle of a butterfly closely but having real life caterpillars in our classroom, we have introduced a bug hotel into our playground and are always checking to see if we have any new visitors, we have also been exploring Minibeasts through our structured play through activities such as investigating insects under magnifying glasses, rescuing bugs from the green slime water tray and also creating our own minibeast junk craft masterpieces. We now know lots about the little creatures living in our playground.
